Outreach

Members of Golden Dome Chapter are committed to giving back to the community. They have volunteered individually and as a group in such organizations as the Council on Battered Women’s Shelter; Crestview Nursing Home – providing After Five attire for residents, male and female to attend the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Ball in July for 2007, and 2008, in addition we have rendered other services; Cascade House for women and Children Shelter – providing cleaning products and supplies, toiletries, school supplies and book bags, and pillows; to name a few. Also, they have served on the Board and coordinated a Health Fair for the Atlanta Urban League, which focuses on screening for blood pressure, diabetes and, other diseases; Hosea Feed the Hungry, The Heard Burn Foundation; American Cancer Society – Making Strides Walks to raise funds for research and cures for cancer; SCLC Women’s Group. Golden Dome Chapter members have volunteered at the Children’s Ward at Grady Memorial Hospital; Cook Elementary School – providing new clothing, shoes, outer wears, and toys for children in the 1st and 2nd grades.

Over the years, members have donated funds to provide Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets, Blessings in the Box for many private citizens who are in need. We have participated in the Dress for Success Program – providing nearly new suits and business attire for women to wear for job interviews to begin a new career.

Since its chartering in 1972, Golden Dome Chapter members have donated local scholarship to deserving college, vocational and technical school students from the community and the State of Georgia in excess of $82,000. In addition, our Chapter has donated more than $20,000 to the Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Fund (SBMEF).
